How it works

Teledermatology Consultation is Easy

Once a primary care physician identifies a need for the consulting services of a board-certified dermatologist, the process of managing sending and receiving consultations via the Internet is easy.

1. A primary care provider orders a dermatology consult for a patient and sends the patient to a teledermatology clinic.

2. A trained consult manager (in the teledermatology clinic) obtains history and takes appropriate digital images (using an off the shelf digital camera) of the patient and uploads the information and photos into the secure Web application.

3. A board-certified and licensed dermatologist approved by TeleDerm Solutions and selected by the referring organization, reviews the case and submits a diagnosis and recommends a management plan.

4. The referring provider or a representative is then notified via email with a link to the application.

5. The referring provider then manages the patient using the recommendations by the dermatologist.

Teledermatology enables me to provide dermatology expertise to the referring physicians regardless of the location, without interrupting my own schedule.
